Projects will range from engine safety, production stoppage, new/repair technology development, cost reduction, etc. where the engineer will understand customer requirements and execute development programs to meet and exceed business needs. The candidate will collaborate with other internal engineering disciplines, engineering management and manufacturing customers as part of an Integrated Product Team to ensure the successful transition and implementation of technology into Pratt & Whitney’s products. The candidate will also lead elements or entire initiatives to establish next generation coatings with unique capabilities for specific applications. The candidate will interface with the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL), Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Energy (DOE) and NASA customers & lab technical community to seek, secure and execute contracts. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and be highly motivated. The candidate will have responsibilities that include bench-marking coating/alloy technology and processes, securing funding, managing projects, and updating engineering standard work. Experience with Lean/Six Sigma tools is a plus.
