Thermal Engineer

About The Position

The Thermal Engineer will lead product development and thermal design activities for commercial refrigerators. The role applies thermal and fluid-flow engineering, calculations and modeling, and hands-on testing to develop and optimize refrigeration designs. The engineer will collaborate with internal teams, test engineers, vendors, and suppliers; troubleshoot design issues; and prepare reports and engineering standards. This is a permanent role at Epta, with remote work whenever possible and flexible working hours.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in thermal or mechanical engineering with 7 or more years of experience, or a master’s degree in thermal or mechanical engineering with 5 or more years of experience.
Competency in thermal and fluid-flow design and analysis.
Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
CAD skills.
Proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

Lead product development and thermal design activities for commercial refrigerators.
Communicate and collaborate effectively within and outside the organization, including with vendors and suppliers.
Optimize designs using Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
Perform engineering design using hand calculations and 1D/2D thermal modeling.
Troubleshoot using DFMEA and root cause analysis.
Design heat exchangers and refrigerant piping for refrigerators.
Optimize airflow and select fans.
Generate and present reports for design approval.
Draft and publish internal engineering standards and procedures.
Conduct hands-on engineering and thermal testing in the lab in conjunction with test engineers.
