About The Position

Methodist Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Therapy Technician to join their Inpatient Rehabilitation Therapy team. This role involves working under the direct supervision of licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists to assist patients in regaining strength, mobility, and independence after illness, injury, or surgery. The technician will provide hands-on support during therapy sessions and help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient treatment environment, playing an important role in patient recovery and goal achievement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to safely assist patients with mobility and functional activities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced rehabilitation environment.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience as a Therapy Technician in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), Nursing Assistant, or similar patient care role will also be considered.
  • Previous rehabilitation or inpatient healthcare experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient care tasks under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist.
  • Assist therapists with patient mobility activities, including gait training, transfers, activities of daily living (ADLs), and therapeutic exercises.
  • Assist with patient transportation to and from therapy sessions.
  • Prepare, set up, and take down therapy equipment for patient treatments.
  • Pick up, deliver, organize, and maintain therapy equipment and supplies.
  • Perform wheelchair maintenance and routine equipment inspections.
  • Maintain compliance logs and other departmental documentation as assigned.
  • Follow infection prevention and control procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment.
  • Perform routine cleaning and organization of therapy treatment areas.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude while providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and coworkers.
  • Support the mission and programs of Methodist Rehabilitation by promoting teamwork, professionalism, and compassionate care.
