The Therapy Services Specialist (COTA/PTA Preferred) is responsible for working under the guidance of an occupational therapist and collaborating with the managed care organization to support persons aging in place receiving home or community-based services. This role enables associates to work virtually full-time, with the exception of required in-person training sessions, providing flexibility and autonomy. The specialist performs telephonic and/or virtual assessments to identify participant needs, provides recommendations to the MCO for supportive services, and conducts objective assessments for program participation. They obtain participant history, complete assessments annually or as needed, and educate participants and MCO representatives on options for home modifications, DME, assistive technology, or other adaptive equipment. The specialist also assists the clinical team with equipment and service recommendations, collaborates with the support team to report observations and outcomes, and documents all member encounters per standards.
