We are searching for a highly skilled Therapy Medical Physicist to join our dedicated team of experts. Our candidates must be well-trained in Radiation Oncology and be able to work in a collaborative team environment. Clinic Information: This position is located in Richmond, VA market and will be also supporting surrounding areas. This clinics you will support have both Varian and Elekta equipment. Treatment planning systems include Mosaiq, Monaco, Aria & Eclipse. This role will partner with a great team of several physicists, dosimetrist (onsite and remote), and physicians.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree and/or PhD in Medical Physics.
  • A board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Medical Physics, or board eligibility as demonstrated by graduation from a CAMPEP accredited residency in therapy physics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret regulations.
  • A willingness to go “above and beyond” for clients and fellow colleagues.
  • Demonstrate initiative, organization and ownership of daily tasks and projects.
  • Ability to problem solve by seeking, developing and implementing viable solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of clinical Therapy Medical Physics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform weekly and monthly radiation measurements, as well as yearly calibration on all treatment units.
  • Monitor equipment in the Radiation Oncology Department to ensure that it is functioning correctly and safely.
  • Maintain regulatory agency records and reports.
  • Analyze alternative treatment plans and supervise dosimetry treatment planning functions.
  • Implement assessment/treatment and care based on the developmental stages of the patient.
  • Perform additional duties, as needed.
