About The Position

The Therapy Development Specialist (TDS) provides advanced clinical and technical support for new PVH vascular therapies and products to a wide range of clinical settings and customers. Partnering with Therapy Development Representatives (TDR), the TDS supports critical cases and applies strong clinical expertise to ensure the safe and effective use of the newest technologies. The role trains, supports, and educates physicians on PVH carotid and thrombectomy therapies and serves as a clinical subject matter expert for new therapies within the Vascular sales organization. The role reports to the Area Therapy Manager. This is a field-based, dynamic position that will evolve with new therapies and products. The role requires availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as determined by local management and domestic travel of more than 70%.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma and 8+ years clinical, medical device or related experience in a hospital environment OR Associate's degree and 6+ years in clinical, medical device or related experience in a hospital environment OR Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years in clinical, medical device or related experience in a hospital environment
  • Possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment (for roles below Principal level).

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced clinical expertise and hands-on procedural support to ensure safe, consistent, and superior outcomes for new vascular technologies across commercial use and clinical studies.
  • Deliver case coverage and technical guidance for physicians utilizing PVH carotid, thrombectomy, and other newly launched vascular therapies, including urgent and high priority cases.
  • Support the introduction, adoption, and effective utilization of new technologies by serving as a clinical subject matter expert by delivering best practices, training, and technical guidance to the Vascular Field organization.
  • Assess customer needs and deliver tailored clinical product support that maximizes the value of Medtronic vascular solutions, engaging stakeholders and addressing objections as needed.
  • Partner with the Therapy Development Rep (TDR) and Vascular field organization to optimize case support, support key accounts, and execution of business plans.
  • Support market development initiatives and new account launch strategies for new vascular therapies.
  • Drive growth, utilization, and reorder activity—particularly in new accounts—by supporting product launches and commercial strategies.
  • Provide clinical insight and field feedback to support account strategy, opportunity prioritization, and competitive positioning.
  • Educate and train physicians, nurses, and clinical staff on new vascular therapies through in‑service programs, presentations, and one‑on‑one sessions.
  • Deliver ongoing education and technical support as new products are introduced, demonstrating strong product knowledge, confidence, and enthusiasm.
  • Conduct regular hospital and clinic visits to support sales, service, and educational objectives.
  • Lead and support training events and provide technical expertise during procedures and product demonstrations.
  • Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with key clinicians, decision makers, administrators, and staff to drive adoption of new vascular technologies.
  • Build clinical consensus and secure physician commitment through education, case support, and sustained engagement.
  • Assess customer needs and gather feedback on new products or enhancements, communicating actionable insights to sales and leadership teams.
  • Ensure compliance with consignment agreements, inventory schedules, and hospital vendor credentialing requirements.
  • Provide after hours case support as needed, including weeknights and weekends, based on territory requirements.
