United Therapeutics (UT) is a publicly-traded biotech/pharmaceutical company focused on developing novel therapies for rare, deadly diseases and creating manufactured organs to address transplant shortages. The company has developed six FDA-approved therapies for conditions like pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD), and neuroblastoma. UT is also working on developing manufactured organs to eliminate transplant waiting lists. The Therapy Access Manager (TAM) is a customer-facing role responsible for managing accounts within a specific region to support patient access to UT therapies. This role involves educating healthcare providers and office staff on access services and reimbursement solutions, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and acting as a payer expert for a defined geography. The TAM will ensure understanding of the reimbursement process, specialty pharmacies, and UT's patient support program, while advising on patient-level reimbursement issues in a compliant manner. The role also involves managing daily activities that support patient access, serving as a liaison to patient assistance programs, conducting in-person customer visits, and providing education on formulary coverage, insurance procedures, benefits investigation, prior authorization, and claims resolution. Additionally, the TAM will educate physician office staff on patient support services using UT-approved materials.
