About The Position

Therapist provides comprehensive mental health services to Daybreak clients, including diagnostic assessments, individual and group psychotherapy, and crisis intervention. This role supports youth and young adults in achieving mental wellness and stability through evidence-based clinical practices, collaborative treatment planning, and timely coordination of care. The clinician is responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based behavioral health services to youth and young adults served by Daybreak. The Therapist provides these services during normal business hours as well as some evenings and weekends. Services are provided in the office and in community.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in counseling or social work from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience preferred.
  • Minimum of LPC or LSW license required

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in counseling or social work preferred.
  • LPCC or LISW preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments for all incoming Daybreak clients (adults and children).
  • Engage in person centered treatment planning with persons served.
  • Create individual services plans for all clients.
  • As a member of the Clinical On-Call team, provide crisis intervention assessments and develop safety plans, including coordination with Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT) when hospitalization screenings are necessary.
  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy services utilizing evidence-based practices to support clients in achieving their treatment goals.
  • Tailor interventions to address the needs of special populations served by Daybreak, including but not limited to unhoused youth, LGBTQ+ youth and other special populations.
  • Group Facilitation of a wide variety of groups to include psychoeducation, coping skills, and other relevant topics.
  • Offer referrals to appropriate community-based mental health services that exceed Daybreak’s scope of care.
  • Provide resources and referrals related to substance use disorders.
  • Connect clients with specialized community resources that align with their identities or needs (e.g., LGBTQ+ services, housing supports).
  • Collaborate with clients to develop discharge plans that ensure continuity of mental health care and access to supportive services upon program completion or exit.
  • Maintain accurate and complete clinical records in accordance with agency policies, funder requirements, accrediting bodies, and ethical standards.
  • Submit documentation of clinical services within 72 working hours of service delivery, as per agency protocol, to support timely billing and client recordkeeping.
  • Achieve and maintain productivity standard, as established in clinical supervision and agency policy
  • Maintain licensure (LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC) by completing all continuing education requirements (CEUs) as defined by the applicable licensing board.
