About The Position

Alliance Healthcare Services is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and clinically skilled Master's Level Therapist (License Eligible) to provide behavioral health services within the Shelby County Division of Corrections. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering high-quality mental health care to individuals in a correctional setting while working alongside an interdisciplinary team committed to improving outcomes for justice-involved individuals. The Therapist provides direct clinical services to detainees housed within the Shelby County Division of Corrections. Services include assessment, crisis intervention, individual and group therapy, psychoeducation, treatment planning, suicide prevention, and clinical documentation. The therapist collaborates closely with correctional staff, healthcare providers, and other members of the treatment team to ensure comprehensive behavioral health care.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, or a closely related field.
  • License eligible in the State of Tennessee.
  • Must be eligible to obtain all required credentials and approvals necessary to work within correctional and behavioral healthcare settings.
  • Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to develop individualized treatment plans and document measurable outcomes.
  • Sound clinical judgment and crisis intervention skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with emotionally disturbed and justice-involved individuals.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with correctional staff, medical providers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Professionalism, flexibility, and strong organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with incarcerated individuals preferred.
  • Experience serving individuals with serious and persistent mental illness is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in publicly funded behavioral health settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide face-to-face behavioral health services, including: Mental health assessments, Individual therapy, Group therapy, Psychoeducation, Suicide prevention interventions, Crisis assessments and interventions
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and assist with treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with correctional staff and healthcare providers regarding patient care and treatment recommendations.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and professional clinical documentation in accordance with organizational, state, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide clinical support and consultation to fellow behavioral health staff as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with Alliance Healthcare Services policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Justice Program and organizational mission.
