About The Position

Sandy Pines is a 149-bed Residential Psychiatric Facility servicing children and adolescents ages 5 to 17. The facility is located in beautiful sub-tropical South Florida and is nestled beside Jonathan Dickinson State Park which creates a rustic, roomy outdoor atmosphere. Sandy Pines is at the county line of both Palm Beach and Martin Counties and is just minutes away from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. The per diem therapist is called upon to provide interim coverage in the absence of a primary therapist. The per diem therapist must be flexible and responsive to requests by the Director of Clinical Services to facilitate assigned individual/family/group therapy sessions, according to their availability. The per diem therapist is responsible for completing documentation of all services rendered and submitting it to the Director of Clinical Services during the week sessions are facilitated.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in a relevant Human Services Field
  • Two (2) years’ experience working with children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance, and their families

Nice To Haves

  • LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, MS, RMHCI or RSWI preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates individual/family/group therapy sessions as assigned, utilizing an approach of trauma informed care.
  • Treats all residents with care and respect.
  • Demonstrates empathy and understanding of trauma histories.
  • Completes documentation of all individual/family/group therapy sessions and submits completed documentation to the Director of Clinical Services the same week sessions are completed.
  • Documentation shall be in accordance with Medicaid, JCHAO, statutory, and regulatory guidelines, as well as agency policy and procedures.
  • Reviews the assigned resident’s clinical history, master treatment plan and/or treatment plan reviews to ensure interventions align with the resident’s goals/objectives/needs.
  • May need to consult with members of the treatment team, as appropriate/necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
