About The Position

Centerstone is a leading nonprofit behavioral health system dedicated to improving lives through comprehensive care. This role involves providing individual, family, and group counseling services in various settings, including clinic-based and community-based locations. The Therapist will maintain client progress documentation, collaborate with treatment teams and community partners, and may meet with clients in their homes, hospitals, offices, schools, workplaces, and other community locations. Free clinical supervision is available for eligible interns pursuing Florida licensure. This position is eligible for a Sign-On Bonus.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree required.
  • Experience with mental health and/or co-occurring issues.
  • Valid FL driver’s license.
  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
  • Ability to develop supportive relationships with persons with legal, mental health, substance use, and co-occurring issues while maintaining appropriate therapeutic boundaries.
  • Possess knowledge of mental illness and recovery including the ability to collaborate with community partners.
  • Understanding of populations affected by mental illness, proven skills in networking among diverse agencies, and strong planning and personnel management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis intervention services in the community.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and update treatment plans with client and family input.
  • Conduct clinical behavioral health assessments.
  • Enter written documentation into the Electronic Medical Record in a timely manner for all services rendered.
  • Provide supportive and educational counseling services (individual, family, and group) to develop daily living and coping skills.
  • Assist clients with developing natural support systems.
  • Refer, advocate, and link clients and families to additional services as needed.
  • Complete all required agency trainings to maintain 100% compliance.
  • Maintain departmental productivity expectations.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and communicate patient progress, barriers, and treatment recommendations (specific to Inpatient).
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support for patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms or behavioral health emergencies (specific to Inpatient).
  • Conduct clinical assessments and contribute to treatment and discharge planning throughout the patient's hospitalization, assisting the discharge planner in evaluating barriers to discharge, identifying the safest post-discharge placement and level of care, and coordinating appropriate follow-up services and supports (specific to Inpatient).
