About The Position

JFS seeks a Therapist to join our Clinical Services team and provide direct, high-quality mental health care to individuals, couples, families, and groups throughout the St. Louis community. In this role, you will deliver individual, family, and group therapy; conduct assessments; and develop individualized treatment plans that meet each client where they are. Your work will provide warm, dignified, and accessible mental health care to clients of any age, race, religion, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation — helping people build resilience and move toward lasting well-being.

Requirements

Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychotherapy, or a related clinical field.
Experience delivering psychotherapy and/or social services.
Licensure as a counselor, clinical social worker, therapist, or psychologist (e.g., LPCC, LPC, LMHC, LMSW, LCSW).
Strong interviewing, psychosocial assessment, and diagnostic skills, including crisis intervention techniques.
Sound clinical judgment and the ability to exercise discretion with sensitive, confidential information.
Ability to work effectively with clients of any age, race, religion, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team and deliver presentations to diverse audiences.
Comfortable using general office equipment, computers, and related software, including electronic health record and billing platforms such as MedTech.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, with periods of standing and movement when facilitating in-person sessions or presentations.
Emotional resilience and sound professional boundaries to handle highly stressful and emotionally charged encounters with clients and family members.
Access to reliable, private transportation.

Nice To Haves

Experience with children, adolescents, families, or the populations served by JFS's Clinical Services programs.
Prior experience in a nonprofit, school-based, or community mental health setting.

Responsibilities

Deliver individual, couple, family, and group therapy using evidence-based, client-centered approaches, including crisis intervention and emergency services as needed.
Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow-up care tailored to each client's goals.
Work alongside therapists, psychiatric providers, and other professionals to deliver coordinated, team-based care, and engage family members in support of client progress.
Refer clients to JFS programs and community resources to ensure continuity and comprehensiveness of care.
Complete accurate, timely case documentation in JFS's electronic health record and billing systems, and maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and licensure regulations.
Plan and facilitate outreach activities and presentations that raise awareness of mental health and JFS's therapeutic services.
