Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work or counseling or relevant state licensure required.
• Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients.

Responsibilities

• Providing psychotherapy and counseling therapies including group, individual and family therapy for patients suffering from psychiatric and substance abuse issues.
• Ensuring accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Conducting individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems.
• Displaying active involvement in treatment planning process.
• Providing family session counseling to all patients to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups.
• Actively communicating with clients, families, and outside referral sources.
• Demonstrating proactive communication with those involved with the patient’s treatment.
• Working well with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review and nursing staff members.
• Demonstrating active communication with team members.
