Provides clinical services to meet the diverse needs of adult clients and their children who are seeking assistance from the assigned program. This includes conducting pre-assessment screenings, biopsychosocial assessments, individual and group counseling services for shelter residents, parent education counseling, psychological profiles, outreach counseling services, referrals, and extensive follow-up for evaluative/research reports. The role involves developing, delivering, and evaluating therapeutic activities using a trauma-informed approach, including individual and group therapy, educational sessions, life skills training, and peer support groups. The therapist will collaborate with Case Management Specialists on resident psychological profiles, assess behavioral health needs, make treatment recommendations, and link clients with appropriate providers. Curriculum development for educational and life skills groups, program evaluation, and applicable research are also key responsibilities. The position requires maintaining thorough documentation, attending community meetings, serving as a liaison with community agencies, and collaborating with outside consultants on research-related issues. The role also requires the ability to be available 24 hours a day for suicide assessments in crisis situations, remain calm under pressure, exercise discretion and confidentiality, drive safely, and conduct all duties in accordance with the organization's Christian principles and with professionalism.
