About The Position

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Pediatrics has an exciting opportunity for a full time Therapist to work in Miami, FL. The Therapist will function as a Mental Health Consultant that will be providing consultation services to early learning programs, classrooms, and children using the IECMHC model.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required.
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required

Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or any related Counseling field is strongly preferred along with being license eligible.

Responsibilities

Interviews, evaluates, and assesses the needs of patients, and develops treatment plans.
Works in conjunction with multidisciplinary service teams to ensure implementation of coordinated psychosocial serves as it relates to program participants’ needs.
Prepares progress notes, reports and correspondence.
Maintains case records confidential.
Conducts ongoing individual, groups, and family counseling sessions with patients.
Completes psychosocial evaluations, assesses psychological disorders, prepares comprehensive clinical summaries, and makes treatment recommendations.
Interprets psychological or psychiatric case information from patients interviewed and from medical or psychiatric sources.
Assists with the recordation of data and statistics.
Serves as program liaison to collaborating service providers, the courts, and treatment centers.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Enroll participants and maintain a caseload of 16 participants (e.g., 4 directors, 8 teachers, and 4 children).
Perform clinical assessments and collect necessary data to determine program eligibility.
Provide weekly consultations to participants based on action plan detailing areas of need.
Continuously link participants to community resources for any additional supports or services.
Attend individual and group supervision as needed.
Attend trainings for continued professional development as needed.
Lead recruitment of intervention and control sites.
Lead collection of pre and post data of assigned programs.
Lead the implementation of all Jump Start PLUS interventions in assigned programs.
Lead the coordination of all additional intervention activities in assigned programs.
Support the design and implementation of KUBI Telepresence Robots.
Support the onboarding and training of program consultants.
Support program leadership during program implementation as needed.
Support recruiting efforts of control sites.
Support the collection of pre and post data at each timepoint.
Support the coordination of program activities (e.g., parent workshops) in control sites.
Support program leadership during program implementation as needed.
