About The Position

Family & Children’s Services therapists work to heal hurting and abused children, strengthen families, and provide hope and a path to recovery for people facing mental illness and addiction. The Children’s Mental Health Therapist serves children ages 4–18 at school sites, providing evidence-based treatment to children and families who may experience significant behavioral and emotional issues or live in high-stress environments. The role may occasionally include serving children or adults in the office-based family-strengthening program. Therapists collaborate monthly with teachers and conduct intakes, develop and update treatment plans, and provide individual, family, and group therapy. They work as part of multidisciplinary teams in the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model, coordinating care for adults and children with complex mental health and substance use challenges. Therapists are primarily embedded in one school, with access to the client’s education team; some may serve multiple schools in one area. Schedules may have some flexibility and follow school schedules for virtual and no-school days. The school-style salary structure pays 10 months of work over a 12-month period. The position is classified as safety-sensitive under Oklahoma law and is subject to the agency’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
