About The Position

The Department of Corrections program provides medication-assisted therapy services to incarcerated individuals. The Therapist will provide assessment and treatment interventions consistent with the program model, conduct clinical and risk assessments, and collaborate with individuals to create individualized, person-centered treatment plans. The role requires competency in age-related or specialty issues and developmental needs for each population served. Therapists will work with clients to develop appropriate discharge plans utilizing natural support, maintain collaborative relationships with family members and other service providers, and provide crisis assessment and intervention. Care may be provided in various settings based on the program model. Responsibilities include maintaining client and staff records according to agency policy, providing coverage for team members, participating in supervision and meetings, and potentially transporting clients. Participation in required training and obtaining/maintaining EBP certification is necessary. In residential programs, therapists prioritize safety and physical presence, participating as full members of the milieu. Additional responsibilities may be required.

Requirements

Master’s Degree or higher in related field.
LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A required.
Valid Driver’s License for programs where transportation is required.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with trauma, mental illness and/or serious emotional disorders and/or substance use disorders preferred.
LCSW, LMFT, LPC, Licensed Psychologist preferred.
LADC or Master’s Degree in related mental health field eligible for LADC may be substituted for LCSW, LMFT, LPC or Licensed Psychologist in some programs.
Other training may be required based on program.

Responsibilities

Provides assessment and treatment interventions consistent with the program model.
Conducts clinical and risk assessments.
Collaborates with individuals to create individualized, person-centered treatment plans.
Demonstrates competency in age related or specialty issues and developmental needs for each population served.
Works with clients to develop appropriate discharge plans utilizing natural support.
Maintains collaborative relationships with family members and other service providers.
Provides crisis assessment and intervention to monitor status of clients in crisis.
May provide care in office, home, residential, and/or community-based settings based on program model and setting.
Responsible for maintaining client and staff records according to agency policy.
Provides coverage for team members during periods of absence.
Participates in weekly supervision, consultations, and meetings.
Transports clients using agency vehicles and/or personal vehicles based on program model and setting.
Participates in all required CHR training and obtains and/or maintains certification in an EBP if applicable.
In residential programs, therapists prioritize safety and physical presence, participating as full members of the milieu.
Additional responsibilities as required.
