The Therapist (Senior) provides lead supervision to Physical Therapist and Occupational Therapist staff and administers physical or occupational therapy treatments; provides direct physical and/or occupational therapy services to patients on the basis of physician's prescription; consults with school personnel, parents, physicians and representatives of other agencies. This position will oversee day to day operations and staff in CCS/MTU programs. The Therapist (Senior) will directly supervise the following program staff: Physical Therapists (1 FT, 1 EH), Occupational Therapists (1 FT, 1 EH), Medical Records Technician (1), and Account Clerks (2), will respond to State requests for information, complete program reports, assist with budget preparation and contracts, assist with program referrals/care coordination, ensure quality of care and adherence to MTU statewide program updates/guidance/policies. The position will also coordinate medical/DME clinics; serve as liaison/consultant to parents/vendors/school personnel/community agencies/public; and provide direct therapy evaluation/treatment/consultation to a small caseload. The eligible list created as a result of this recruitment will be used to fill full-time and part-time regular, limited-term or extra-help positions as vacancies occur throughout the County.

Requirements

  • Two years of full-time experience or its equivalent as a Physical Therapist.
  • Possession of a valid license as a Registered Physical Therapist issued by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance.
  • Independent travel will be required.
  • Positions allocated to this class may require bilingual skills.
  • Selectees for employment must as a condition of employment sign a statement agreeing to comply with Section 11166 of the California Penal Code relating to child abuse reporting.
