About The Position

The Association for Individual Development (AID) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower people with physical, developmental, intellectual, mental health challenges, those who have suffered a trauma, and those at risk to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose. We are looking for a Therapist Qualified Mental Health Professional who exemplifies that mission and wants to work for an organization that makes a difference. Therapist QMHP are responsible for the provision of case management and counseling services to both adults and children/adolescents who are diagnosed with persistent mental illness, are Spanish speaking, or speak a second language. This is not the only population that the therapist will work with. Services are provided in family and individual treatment settings with both adult and children/adolescents. Services are offered both onsite and, in the community/client home. Therapists are expected to work with a team of service providers within the agency and throughout the social service community to ensure that all needs of clients are met.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a human services field
  • At least 1 year of experience in behavioral health preferred
  • Navigation of stairs on a regular basis
  • Tolerance of unkempt home conditions of clients
  • Computer with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications
  • Copy machine
  • Telephone with voice mail system
  • Flexibility to work evening hours
  • Use of personal automobile
  • Maintain automobile liability insurance as defined by AID’s personnel policies
  • Maintain valid Illinois driver’s license
  • Meet/maintain driving record standards as defined by AID’s insurance carrier.

Nice To Haves

  • License preferred (LPC or LSW)

Responsibilities

  • Attendance at scheduled work hours including evening hours
  • Provide effective individual, couples, & family counseling, as assigned
  • Complete clinical assessments that meet the requirements of program funders and applicable administrative rules
  • Refer clients for community-based case management services as needed
  • Provide case management services as medically necessary
  • Complete required documentation (IM+CANS, documentation including encounters, consents) on a timely basis
  • Meet minimum service provision/billing standards.
  • Acquire and maintain required certifications and trainings
  • Abide by AID’s Code of Ethics, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain professional judgment and performance regardless of personal issues
  • Employee promotes awareness and respect for the diversity of our clients, employees, families and other stakeholders.
