About The Position

This position involves providing individual counseling to adult populations experiencing psychotic, emotional, substance use, and dual diagnosis disorders. The role includes administering formal assessments to understand client symptoms, developing individualized treatment plans based on diagnosis, assessment, needs, and lifestyle, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and case managers to ensure optimal care. Crisis intervention is also a key component to ensure client and community safety, requiring relevant clinical knowledge and skills.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field
  • 1 year experience in clinical mental health counseling
  • Experience must include at least one year in each of the following: ICD; assessing for risk and intervening in crisis situations; designing behavioral intervention plans; conducting functional behavioral assessment; experience with social services and community-based resources; TF-CBT; CBT interventions; CBT-P (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis, DSM-5 (or subsequent revisions); clinical skills (diagnosis, motivational interviewing, active listening, use of interpretation and reflection, guided discovery, DBT interventions, record keeping, ethical obligations); providing individual counseling to clients who experience severe psychosis or psychotic disorders; psychology; working with multicultural and marginalized populations such as racial and gender minorities; and group counseling.
  • Licensed in the State of Ohio as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

  • Administer formal assessments to develop perspective on client’s symptoms.
  • Develop treatment plans for each individual based on client’s diagnosis, assessment information, needs and lifestyle.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse practitioners, case managers and other external providers to ensure optimal care.
  • Provide crisis intervention as necessary to ensure safety of clients and the community.
  • Demonstrate relevant clinical knowledge and skills.
