About The Position

A Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision designation (LISW-S) is an advanced clinical social worker who provides mental health services and supervises other social workers pursuing clinical licensure. The LISW-S provides clinical assessment, diagnosis, counseling, crisis intervention, treatment planning, and case management services for individuals, families, or groups. The role may also include supervising social work staff and interns to ensure compliance with state licensing standards and ethical practices.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
  • Current LISW-S license in the applicable state
  • Clinical experience in mental health, counseling, or behavioral health
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic practices
  • Strong communication, documentation, and crisis-management skills
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and Insurance
  • Must be able to be CPR/First Aid certified within 6 months of hire

  • EMR/EHR documentation systems
  • Leadership and supervision experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social work with an Ohio LSW
  • Master’s degree and LPC, MFT, LISW or LPCC or IMFT

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and mental health evaluations
  • Develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide individual, family, couples, and group therapy
  • Diagnose mental health conditions using DSM-5 criteria
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and progress notes
  • Coordinate care with healthcare providers, schools, courts, or community agencies
  • Provide crisis intervention and safety planning
  • Supervise LMSWs/LSWs seeking independent licensure
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, and ethical standards
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and case consultations
