About The Position

The Therapist / Counselor in this position will provide therapeutic services to clients of SpectraCare's substance abuse program at The Haven.

Requirements

• BS degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field required
• Must have a good motor vehicle record and be willing to submit to MVR check
• If in recovery, must have at least (3) years of verifiable sobriety

Nice To Haves

• MS degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field with completion of a relevant clinical practicum
• Substance abuse certification from the Alabama Association of Addiction Counselors, National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, Alabama Alochol and Drug Association or International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium
• If not previous certified or licensed as an LPC, LICSW or LMFT, must be willing to obtain certification within (2) years of hire

Responsibilities

• Facilitating individual, couple, family and group therapy to clients employing various therapeutic techniques
• Documenting and updating clinical records using an electronic health record system
• Coordinate with community agencies and programs for services as needed such as sober living homes, DHR, AA, various other civic and religious groups
• Responds to crisis situations as needed
