About The Position

The CMIS program operates 7 days/ week, 365 days/year between the hours of 8:00am – 9:00pm. Services include assessment, crisis intervention, parent education, brief resolution focused treatment and linkages to behavioral health and community services. Services may be provided with a bachelor’s level case manager as a team member. The primary responsibility is the provision of brief, up to 6 weeks, clinical assessment, interventions and crisis management for children and their families in Northeast Philadelphia.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in the human services field from an accredited college or university
  • 2 years verified, paid, post-master’s therapy experience with children/youth and training and experience in family therapy
  • valid Driver's License and personal vehicle required

Nice To Haves

  • fluency in at least 2 languages spoken in Northeast Philadelphia a plus

Responsibilities

  • Upon referral assignment, contact the family to schedule an initial visit offering same day/next day availability.
  • Engage the youth and family upon the first visit to develop an understanding of the events that led to the crisis, educate the family on the role and time limited nature of CMIS and begin treatment and crisis planning.
  • Collaborate with the psychiatrist on any medication and/or evaluation needs.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions for the youth and family, in the home, community and school, utilizing intensive crisis de-escalation techniques and parenting education that will focus on parenting education; conflict resolution skills and improvement of communication skills.
