The organization is currently seeking responsible, caring, and dedicated individuals for full-time Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) positions in the West Newton area. Available shifts include daylight, evening (2:00 pm - 12:00 am), and Block Shifts, which involve an overnight on-call capacity at the residence. TSS positions are vital to Passavant Memorial Homes' mission, providing one-on-one support to children in home or community settings, including meal preparation, medication administration, and transportation. Success in this role requires compassion, a motivation to help others, and a dedication to quality support.
Requirements
- Minimum of 21 years of age, required.
- Valid driver’s license, required.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field (Official transcripts must be supplied), required.
- Two years experience working with children with ID or mental health, required.
- OR
- Associates degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university in a related field (Official transcripts must be supplied), required.
- Four years experience working with children with ID or mental health, required.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care services and specialized care in daily living, social and recreational activities.
- Provide assistance and support to foster maximum independence of individuals.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the individual support plan.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the individuals.
- Assist and encourage individuals to engage in various activities in the home and community.
- Observe individuals’ behaviors and changes in physical condition, utilize prescribed strategies to assist the individual, and document and report accordingly.
- Administer medications (upon completion of certification; all necessary training is provided).
- Maintain various records regarding individuals.
- Perform needed housekeeping and cleaning duties (home and vehicle).
