Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

About The Position
The Therapeutic Recreation Specialist provides therapeutic recreation services to patients to restore, remediate, and rehabilitate functioning and independence in daily activities. The role promotes health and wellness, reduces activity restrictions, and supports patients across physical rehabilitation and behavioral health settings. The position is part-time, 24 hours per week, on weekdays only, with shifts between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with a major in Therapeutic Recreation.
- Current National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification.
- BLS certification required within 90 days of hire date.
Nice To Haves
- Clinical training and experience in a physical rehabilitation setting.
- Clinical experience in a behavioral health setting as a Recreation Therapist.
Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic recreation services to restore and enhance patients' functional independence.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet patient needs and goals.
- Promote health and wellness through engaging recreational activities.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
