About The Position

Perform diversified duties to organize and conduct therapeutic recreation activities. This role involves organizing and carrying out appropriate group activities and one-to-one sessions to enhance sensory motor, cognitive, and psychosocial skills. The position also requires completing documentation of resident/patient assessment, progress notes, attendance, MED A documentation, and discharge summaries in compliance with State and Federal regulations. Inputting MDS/care plan data, attending RCP meetings, and preparing activity areas are also key responsibilities. The Therapeutic Recreation Assistant (TRA) will exhibit leadership qualities, mentor residents, and engage them in recreation programs, demonstrating the ability to facilitate group process and manage residents' interpersonal needs. The TRA will also be responsible for assessing and documenting the needs and progress of residents, participating in Resident community outings, and ensuring Resident safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • TRD Certification
  • 2-3 years' experience working as a TRA in a long-term care facility.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and deadlines
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively
  • Ability to utilize various software packages to carry out position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and carry out appropriate group activities and one-to-one sessions to enhance sensory motor, cognitive and psychosocial skills.
  • Complete documentation of resident/patient assessment, progress notes, attendance MED A documentation, discharge summaries in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Input MDS/care plan data and attend RCP meetings.
  • Transport resident to and from scheduled activity area. Prepare activity area.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies and notify Coordinator of needs.
  • Drive Mozaic Senior Life vehicles as required for outings; attend and participate in a variety of staff meetings. Maintain regular attendance.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities, mentor residents, and engage them when participating in recreation programs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to facilitate group process and will also be able to manage the interpersonal needs of the residents.
  • Demonstrate the ability to assess and document the needs and progress of the residents.
  • Participate on Resident community outings as required, demonstrating Resident safety.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
