Prairie Crocus Manor is recruiting an enthusiastic, energetic, and creative person with a passion for working with diverse groups of Resident for 0.5 EFT part time Therapeutic Recreation Aide.
Requirements
- Completion of a Recreation Facilitator for Older Adults program from an accredited school or Bachelor Degree in Recreation Studies from a recognized University is required.
- A genuine interest to work with Elders
- Demonstrated ability to develop creative and innovative programs
- Previous geriatric experience required
- Good computer skills
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Excellent organization, planning, time management, and multi-tasking skills
- Mental and physical health to meet the demands of the position
Nice To Haves
- facilitation experience is an asset
- familiarity with MDS is an asset
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with elders in a health care facility
- Recent experience in Therapeutic Recreation and/or other recreation program delivery
Responsibilities
- Providing therapeutic-based interventions and programing with the goal of enhancing the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, intellectual and spiritual needs of our Residents.
- Through movement, games, crafts, music, pet therapy or exercise, the therapeutic recreation therapist provides a fun and interactive environment for our Residents.
