About The Position

The Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) is seeking a Therapeutic Program Worker to join their team. This role involves participating in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans, providing supportive care, assisting with therapeutic interventions, and completing charting and documentation accurately. The position also includes organizing and facilitating therapeutic and recreational patient group activities, safely transporting patients to off-site appointments, and participating in patient interventions to support safety, recovery, and overall well-being. This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 7 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule. The position is located at the Summit Behavioral Healthcare location in Cincinnati, OH.

Requirements

  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.

  • Official transcripts are required for all post-secondary education, coursework, or degrees listed on the application. Applicants must submit an official transcript before receiving a formal employment offer.   • The selected candidate will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
  • All final applicants tentatively selected for this class will be required to submit to urinalysis to test for illegal drug use prior to appointments.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans
  • Provide supportive care and assist with therapeutic interventions as needed
  • Complete charting, documentation, patient records, and required reports accurately and timely
  • Organize and facilitate therapeutic and recreational patient group activities
  • Safely transport patients to scheduled off-site appointments and activities
  • Participate in appropriate patient interventions to support safety, recovery, and overall well-being
