About The Position

At Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, the Therapeutic Group Home (TGH) Manager provides leadership to Mental Health Workers to ensure a safe environment that supports trauma-informed care. This role is an active member of the Leadership Team, partnering with other leaders to uphold the mission and values of Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch and working towards strategic goals. The TGH Manager also serves as a primary point of contact with outside agencies, partners, and youth families.

Requirements

  • 21 years old or older
  • Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.
  • An advanced degree in social work or a comparable human service field and two years of relevant experience; OR a bachelor’s degree in social work or a comparable human service field and four or more years of relevant experience.
  • License to operate passenger vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor staff performance, provide feedback and guidance to Mental Health Workers and Lead Mental Health Workers, ensuring that all staff members are professionally trained and certified and that the milieu program follows YBGR policies and is consistent with YBGR treatment philosophy.
  • Ensure a safe environment for youth that allows for quality care to achieve their treatment goals.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation, when necessary, as part of the regular delivery of services or through an as needed or on-call basis.
  • Responsible for various administrative areas involving but not limited to scheduling, supervision, budgetary and fiscal matters, and other areas as assigned.
  • Collaborate as a member of the Lodge’s Treatment Team as assigned. Ensure timely, outcomes based treatment planning documentation is submitted for all MTPR’s and individualized treatment plans are being implemented correctly.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with the families and collaterals of the residents.
