About The Position

This position helps residents at the Southwestern Veterans Center take part in activities that support physical, cognitive, and social well-being. The role focuses on leading planned sessions, assisting with outings, and creating a safe and supportive environment.
Requirements
- Six months of experience as an Aide Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
- Six months of work experience providing care to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
- Must be able to perform essential job functions
- Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance
Responsibilities
- Lead recreational and educational activities that help residents build skills and confidence
- Provide direction to volunteers and teach safe practices during programs
- Escort residents to activities, assist with transfers, and ensure safety during outings
- Maintain activity supplies, prepare materials, and complete housekeeping tasks in activity areas
- Observe resident actions, document participation, and report incidents or safety concerns
- Attend trainings, take part in meetings, and support facility improvement programs
