The College of Arts and Science at Vanderbilt University invites applications for the position of Theatre Technology Coordinator. This role involves maintaining all technical equipment (lights, sound, and projection), designing one media category (lights, sound, or projection) for 4 shows per year based on the candidate’s specialization/experience, and assisting with production management tasks. The position will collaborate with the Chair and Associate Chair to support teaching and technical training in the Department of Cinema, Media Arts, and Theatre. This is a term position for one year with the option of renewal. It is a full-time position and requires knowledge and understanding of University policies and procedures. The Department of Cinema, Media Arts, and Theatre (CMAT) bridges the study, design, and production of cinema, media, and live entertainment, offering students an interdisciplinary curriculum focused on creative expression, problem-solving, analytical thinking, leadership, collaboration, cultural awareness, and social engagement. Courses in Theatre prepare students for careers in entertainment industries, arts, public service, and creative entrepreneurship. The Theatre major within CMAT combines theatre production with the study of theatre theory and history, requiring majors to create work outside the classroom, including involvement in mainstage productions.
