About The Position

The Theater Air and Missile Defense (TAMD) Planner supports USCENTCOM's Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Division at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, by providing subject matter expertise for theater air and missile defense operations, planning, exercises, and regional integration efforts. This position supports the development and synchronization of IAMD strategies, contingency plans, and operational initiatives across the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR), working closely with Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Department of Defense organizations, interagency partners, and multinational allies. The TAMD Planner delivers operational analysis, planning expertise, and strategic recommendations that strengthen regional air and missile defense capabilities and support mission readiness. Occasional domestic and international travel, as well as limited 24/7 surge support, is required.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience supporting Integrated Air and Missile Defense operational planning, integration, analysis, evaluations, and assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting military operational planning within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of Theater Air and Missile Defense operations and planning principles.
  • Experience developing, editing, and presenting operational plans, briefings, reports, and other written products for senior military leadership.
  • Ability to independently manage assigned projects while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Ability to provide occasional 24/7 surge support in response to operational requirements.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required (no combat zone travel is authorized under this contract).
  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, coordination, and execution of Theater Air and Missile Defense (TAMD) planning efforts in support of USCENTCOM operational objectives.
  • Develop, analyze, and coordinate Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) solutions for contingency plans (CONPLANs), operations plans (OPLANs), and campaign planning initiatives.
  • Synchronize TAMD programs, policies, and procedures supporting subordinate commands, Geographic Combatant Commands, and regional partners.
  • Evaluate and coordinate implementation of USCENTCOM IAMD strategies, plans, and policies throughout the Area of Responsibility (AOR).
  • Support regional security cooperation initiatives and partner nation IAMD integration efforts.
  • Collaborate with USCENTCOM Component Commands, Joint Staff, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Combatant Commands, Federal Departments and Agencies, and multinational partners.
  • Lead or support cross-functional planning teams addressing theater air and missile defense requirements.
  • Coordinate planning efforts involving joint, interagency, and multinational stakeholders to achieve operational objectives.
  • Support force management and theater integration initiatives across the command.
  • Facilitate command-level Integrated Air and Missile Defense exercise planning working groups.
  • Develop exercise objectives, scenarios, and injects supporting USCENTCOM IAMD training and readiness goals.
  • Support operational assessments, after-action reviews, and lessons learned initiatives.
  • Provide surge support during exercises, contingency operations, and emerging operational requirements.
  • Analyze and assess air and missile threats, including ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, hypersonic weapons, crewed aircraft, and uncrewed aerial systems.
  • Develop operational analyses, estimates, and recommendations supporting command decision-making.
  • Monitor evolving regional threat environments and provide actionable assessments to leadership.
  • Support planning efforts that enhance theater air and missile defense capabilities across the USCENTCOM AOR.
  • Prepare and coordinate operational orders, briefings, reports, estimates, and planning products for USCENTCOM leadership and primary staff.
  • Present information and recommendations to General Officer/Flag Officer (GO/FO), executive leadership, and national-level audiences.
  • Advise senior leadership on strategic and regional IAMD issues, force management, operational priorities, and capability requirements.
  • Draft, edit, and review high-quality written products supporting command objectives.
