This course explores contemporary events in the Arctic. The course examines a broad set of issues through three key themes: International Relations, Climate Change & Geopolitics, and Indigenous Governance & Self-Determination. The course uses a combination of peer-reviewed articles, documentaries, online guest speakers, audio-interviews, and literature to think through the pertinent issues at hand. The course will appeal to those who are interested in exploring questions of power, governance and policy as it relates to Arctic issues.
