About The Position

Four Seasons is looking for a Host/Hostess who shares a passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. This position has the opportunity to shape employee experience by providing exceptional knowledge and service in support of our world-renowned hotels. The hostess reports to the General Manager of the Restaurant. Work authorization for the location is required. Please note that this is a temporary position, with an anticipated end date in late 2025 based on business needs. Requirements

  • Work authorization for the location is required.
  • Speaking, writing and reading English is required.
  • Positive attitude and willing to learn is a must.

  • Flexible schedule and the ability to work different shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • The host/hostess welcomes, greets and seats guests in a gracious, accommodating, and professional manner, ensuring 100% guest satisfaction.
  • Works quickly in high-volume environment and has the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Set up the host/hostess stand, review the reservation book and make recommendations as to the set up of the room.
  • Open the restaurant for business at the prescribed time each shift.
  • Inspect the cleanliness of each section of the dining room and the private dining rooms and make necessary improvements as well as check each table prior to opening to ensure its proper set.
  • Pick up the daily menus and insert them properly in their covers.
  • Inspect every menu and list to ensure proper condition and appearance.
  • Develop a complete working knowledge of the menus, menu ingredients and what is unavailable for the day.
  • Know the server stations, their daily assignments, their personal timing patterns and their maximum workload capacity.
  • Maintain a station chart and cover count for the restaurant.
  • Ensure you conform to the standards of service and personally ensure each guest receives the highest quality of service.
  • Handle guests without reservations or those waiting for others to join them.
  • Handle lost and found items.
  • Seat reservations promptly at a table pre-set for the number in the party.
  • Hold chairs for guests as often as possible when seating them.
  • Check guest's coats, packages or luggage when necessary.
  • Address guests by name.
  • Address a guest dissatisfaction immediately and inform the manager of the action taken.
