About The Position

Field Engineering is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) AN/TPY-2 THAAD Radar Systems Engineer to support the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) UAE Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving radar system anomalies (e.g., REX, BSG, Antenna/Sub-Array/TRIMMs) using advanced engineering methodologies and software tools. The selected candidate will assess radar system health through diagnostic interpretation and satellite track analysis, provide weekly engineering status reports, assist with software installations, execute data archival, and ensure compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and Automated Logistics Control System (ALCS) reporting requirements. This position requires active Secret Security Clearance and the ability to work as a U.S. expatriate based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) under the terms of a Long-Term (Accompanied) International Assignment Memorandum of Understanding (LTIA MOU). This will be an accompanied assignment, however, travel into Host Nation for family members will be delayed with approval to do so contingent on Global Mobility authorizing a safe move into country.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Linux or other UNIX-based OS platforms (e.g., Solaris, HP-UX) is a must.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • A CompTIA Security+ certification (Security+) is required.
  • Proven experience working in on-site integration and test teams.
  • Hands-on experience operating radar systems to collect calibration data and troubleshoot radar anomalies.
  • In-depth knowledge of radar theory, X-Band hardware/software concepts, RF systems, and the ability to read and utilize hardware schematics.
  • Experience in maintaining, assessing, and implementing corrective actions on faulted equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with configuring and setting up network equipment (e.g., Cisco routers, switches).

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in using Matlab for data analysis (preferred).
  • At least five years of experience troubleshooting and conducting operational checks of AN/TPY-2 systems.
  • A problem-solver willing to support work across functions (hardware, power, site specific needs)
  • Strong technical writing and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in technical performance and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-sensitive requirements.
  • Experience in the planning, production, and management of complex systems.
  • Strong self-starter with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Background in logistics is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for configuration management of hardware and software.
  • Investigating radar issues, writing SARs, maintaining the linux based SDPE.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot radar system issues and lead resolution efforts under the direction of the CLS Site Manager.
  • Review ALCS program data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Failure Review Board evaluation requirements.
  • Maintain the overall health and operational status of radar systems.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret calibration data using radar systems and Matlab tools.
  • Execute software installations, system updates, and engineering modifications.
  • Document integration and testing procedures, results, and issues.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers, end users, and Field Service Representatives (FSRs).
