TGA Sports Coach - After-School Enrichment
About The Position
TGA of Southern Westchester is seeking enthusiastic and reliable coaches for its after-school enrichment programs, which offer structured golf, tennis, and pickleball for children aged 5-15 at various locations. The program aims to foster confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a lifelong love for physical activity. Coaches will either lead or support classes, focusing on creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment while teaching fundamental skills. The role emphasizes the importance of a coach's energy, personality, and ability to connect with children, with TGA providing the curriculum, equipment, and training.
Requirements
- 18+ required for Lead Coach positions
- Solid understanding of the fundamentals of at least one: golf, tennis, or pickleball
- Passion for sports and working with children
- Energetic, positive, and reliable
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable managing and engaging a group of children
- Reliable transportation to program locations
- Able to successfully complete a background check
Nice To Haves
- Previous coaching, teaching, camp, mentoring, or youth-program experience is a plus
- College athletes, former high school athletes, teachers, educators, experienced coaches, and anyone with a genuine passion for these sports are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Lead or support after-school programs for children ages 5–15
- Teach fundamental skills through fun, age-appropriate drills, games, and activities
- Keep children engaged, active, and excited to participate
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment
- Encourage confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship
- Build relationships with students and help them make meaningful progress
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and TGA leadership
- Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to coach
- Follow TGA's curriculum, coaching standards, and safety procedures
Benefits
- Competitive per-class compensation based on experience and qualifications
- Lead Coach: Competitive per-class pay, based on experience and qualifications, with standard Lead Coach rates up to $75 per class
- Limited opportunities for highly experienced/qualified Lead Coaches to earn up to $85 per class
- Station Coach: Up to $45 per class
