About The Position

ECU School of Art and Design is currently seeking a Textile Design Area Studio Assistant to maintain textile areas and fulfill various studio maintenance duties. This role involves general upkeep and cleaning of the Textile Design Studios, including sweeping, cleaning surfaces, managing dishes and laundry, and refilling consumables. The assistant will also be responsible for cleaning and organizing equipment, containers, shelving, sinks, and backsplashes. Additionally, the position requires assisting faculty and graduate assistants with studio maintenance tasks such as unpacking inventory and organizing materials and supplies.

Responsibilities

• General upkeep of Textile Labs 223, 227, 229, 210, 212, 208A
• General cleaning of the Textile Design Studios
• Sweeping as needed
• Clean surfaces as needed
• Rotate and put away dishes
• Rotate and put away laundry (check lint trap)
• Refill general consumables (soap, Synthrapol, paper towels)
• Notify faculty when low on supplies
• Clean and organize equipment containers/tools (remove old labels, clean)
• Clean and organize shelving (remove items and wipe surfaces)
• Scrub sinks (including spray booth)
• Scrub backsplashes (walls around sinks and heating surfaces)
• Assist Faculty/Graduate Assistant with studio maintenance
• Unpacking inventory
• Discarding packing materials, recycle cardboard, etc.
• Organization of material/supplies in 229
