(Military Veterans are highly encouraged to apply) Role Overview: The Testing Specialist (Journeyman) supports software quality assurance activities by executing test cases, conducting regression testing, documenting test results, and ensuring system functionality meets project requirements. Working under the direction of the Test Engineer, this role plays a critical part in validating system performance, identifying defects, and maintaining comprehensive testing documentation throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or test execution activities.
  • Experience performing regression testing and validating software functionality.
  • Experience using test management and defect tracking tools.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Ability to execute test cases and accurately document results.
  • Experience identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • U.S Citizenship is required.
  • Applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be able to obtain a government-granted security clearance.
  • Individuals may also be subject to a background investigation including, but not limited to criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting federal government or large-scale enterprise IT programs.
  • Familiarity with Agile or DevSecOps development environments.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.

Responsibilities

  • Execute manual and automated test cases in accordance with established test plans and procedures.
  • Perform regression, functional, integration, and system testing activities.
  • Document test execution results, defects, and corrective actions with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and review of test scripts, test cases, and testing documentation.
  • Track and report software defects using approved test management and defect tracking tools.
  • Collaborate with Test Engineers, developers, project managers, and stakeholders to resolve identified issues.
  • Verify defect fixes and support user acceptance testing efforts as required.
  • Maintain testing artifacts and contribute to quality assurance reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with project standards, quality requirements, and documentation guidelines.

  • The compensation range for this position is $85,000-102,000.
