Requirements

  • Knowledge of commissioning, panel and equipment checkout, relay calibration, testing, and repair of substation relaying and control schemes.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply test procedures for various types of substation equipment.
  • Knowledge of three-phase power systems, power system protection and control schemes, test equipment, and related software.
  • Proficient in using test equipment, tools, and wiring; interpreting wiring and elementary diagrams; and performing basic testing and PC tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and/or relevant experience in testing and commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Test and maintain substation relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor), control systems, and voltage regulation equipment.
  • Calibrate protective relays and apply settings according to standards and operational requirements.
  • Program Load Tap Changing (LTC) and voltage regulator controllers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair substation relays and control devices in distribution substations.
  • Plan and execute testing activities to meet schedules and maintain service continuity.
  • Document testing procedures, results, and equipment configurations.
