About The Position

Tidewater Community College (TCC) is seeking a Testing Center Specialist for its Chesapeake Campus. This role supports the overall operations and core testing functions of the Testing Center, serving students, faculty, staff, employers, and community members. TCC has a long history of serving South Hampton Roads and is a significant educational and economic force in the region, offering a wide range of programs and services.

Responsibilities

• Administer comprehensive testing and support core testing functions, including Virginia Placement Test, industry tests, TCC faculty makeup exams, online/hybrid course exams, testing for the Office of Educational Accessibility, and exams from VCCS institutions and other colleges/universities, on and off-campus.
• Provide support to Student Affairs departments such as Virtual Student Support, Admissions & Enrollment, Counseling, Office of Educational Accessibility, and others as needed.
• Actively participate in registration activities.
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external constituents in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Promptly answer telephone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries from students, faculty, staff, and the general public.
• Maintain daily operation of the Testing Center, including preparing lab computers, cameras, and reference sheets, scheduling student appointments, preparing for appointments, seating students for testing, managing the mailroom box, and other files as needed in accordance with TCC/VCCS policy.
• Obtain necessary credentials to administer various tests to students or other customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
