About The Position

This role involves performing routine and specialty production and QA testing on transformers and other products to ensure they meet SPI's or customer specifications. The Tester will also provide guidance to production teams, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and document test results. This position supports continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the plant, ensuring conformance to ISO standards and contributing to the HPS QMS program.

Requirements

Perform routine and specialty production and QA testing
Provide guidance and direction to production team leads or workers
Understand and apply necessary troubleshooting skills
Perform electrical and quality tests on transformers and other products
Verify test results meet specifications and quality standards
Conduct first-piece ("first-off") inspections
Use testing equipment to measure electrical performance
Document test results and quality findings in company systems
Identify defects or issues and communicate them to production teams
Help troubleshoot manufacturing issues
Work closely with production employees, team leads, supervisors, and quality personnel
Perform visual and dimensional inspections
Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives
Report production quality issues or quality information
Assist in review of facility SPIs and internal reference documents
Assist in performing internal audits of plant processes
Attend quality meetings and participate in quality related training
Assist QA/Testing supervisor with data collection

Nice To Haves

Experience with SPI's (Standard Practice Instructions)
Knowledge of ISO standards
Familiarity with HPS QMS program

Responsibilities

Perform routine and specialty production and QA testing as required by SPI’s or requested by customer specifications, including coil checks, production 1st off’s, and all dry and final electrical testing requirements.
Provide guidance and direction to production team leads or workers to ensure proper action is taken to correct production errors.
Understand and apply necessary troubleshooting skills to assist production in repairing any manufacturing technical issues and inconsistencies that arise from production and QA tests.
Perform electrical and quality tests on transformers and other products.
Verify test results meet specifications and quality standards.
Conduct first-piece ("first-off") inspections when production starts.
Use testing equipment to measure electrical performance.
Document test results and quality findings in company systems.
Identify defects or issues and communicate them to production teams.
Help troubleshoot manufacturing issues when products fail testing.
Work closely with production employees, team leads, supervisors, and quality personnel.
Perform visual and dimensional inspections to ensure products meet requirements.
Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives throughout the plant.
Report any other production quality issues or quality information directly to team leads, production supervisor and quality supervisor.
Assist in review of facility SPIs and internal reference documents.

Attend quality meetings and participate in any quality related training deemed necessary by the quality supervisor.
Assist QA/Testing supervisor with any other data collection deemed necessary to support the HPS QMS program.
