About The Position

This role involves performing electrical, mechanical, and system-level testing according to engineering procedures, test scripts, and work instructions. The Tester will safely operate various testing equipment, identify and diagnose electrical or mechanical issues, and collaborate with engineering and production teams for resolution. A key part of the role is quality verification, ensuring proper installation, wiring integrity, torque values, labeling, and overall build compliance before testing. The position also requires accurate documentation of test reports, checklists, and electronic systems, while strictly adhering to safety procedures like lockout/tagout (LOTO) and arc flash protection. The Tester will also ensure testing equipment is calibrated and follow standardized procedures for consistency and reliability. Continuous improvement of test processes and team collaboration are also essential aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation
  • Experience using multimeters, insulation testers, torque tools, and other electrical test equipment
  • Basic knowledge of electrical theory and troubleshooting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and test reporting systems
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to established procedures
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Previous electrical testing, industrial manufacturing, or commissioning experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical, mechanical, and system-level testing according to engineering procedures, test scripts, and work instructions.
  • Safely operate meters, power supplies, load banks, diagnostic tools, and other testing equipment to validate system performance.
  • Identify, diagnose, and document electrical or mechanical issues; collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Verify proper installation, wiring integrity, torque values, labeling, and overall build compliance prior to testing.
  • Accurately complete test reports, inspection checklists, redlines, and electronic documentation systems.
  • Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc flash protection, PPE requirements, and company policies at all times.
  • Ensure testing equipment is within calibration requirements prior to use and report any discrepancies.
  • Follow standardized testing procedures to maintain consistency, reliability, and repeatability of results.
  • Identify opportunities to improve test processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of issues and on-time project completion.
