About The Position

The Tester I is responsible for testing and validating Jabil-manufactured assemblies to ensure product quality, functionality, and compliance with specifications. This role operates automated test equipment, identifies and troubleshoots test failures, and supports production goals while adhering to all safety and quality standards. In addition to testing responsibilities, the Tester I may assist with assembly verification activities, including connecting valves, fittings, hoses, and electrical hookups as required to prepare products for testing and inspection.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required job-related certifications.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work within manufacturing systems and software.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions with strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for up to 10-12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Mechanical lifting devices and team lifts may be utilized as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing, testing, assembly, or production experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools, components, valves, fittings, and electrical connections preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality by performing work that meets or exceeds Jabil Workmanship Standards and improve efficiency through the use of the CIQ system when available.
  • Operate automated electronic test equipment to test finished assemblies.
  • Perform functional testing and verification of mechanical, electrical, and fluid system components.
  • Connect and verify valves, fittings, hoses, and electrical hookups required for testing operations.
  • Maintain a continuous flow of the manufacturing line while meeting production and quality goals.
  • Properly load and unload test fixtures and testing equipment.
  • Use barcode scanners and manufacturing systems to track product movement and test results.
  • Advise supervisors and support teams of recurring test failures so prompt corrective action may be taken.
  • Ensure assemblies are properly handled throughout the testing process.
  • Verify process control sheets and documentation are complete and accurate before moving products to the next operation.
  • Perform additional test and validation operations as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Follow standardized procedures, work instructions, and visual aids for assigned operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental requirements associated with this position.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and security requirements.
