About The Position

The Test Technician reports to the Lab Manager within the Innovation Group. The role leads the assembly of prototype mechanical seals, conducts tests, and analyzes and interprets data to determine whether prototypes meet product requirements. The technician documents findings and shares insights with the team, maintains a safe work environment, troubleshoots equipment and prototype issues, and contributes ideas for test-equipment design.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience in a similar hands-on role.
Attention to detail.
Basic CAD skills.

Responsibilities

Learn new equipment, processes, and methods.
Interpret engineering drawings, test specifications, and requirements.
Assist innovation and engineering teams with test plans and experiments.
Understand P&IDs, valves, regulators, controllers, cooling systems, and sensors.
Assemble and test prototype products using bespoke test equipment.
Record new processes and findings.
Create written and graphical test-data reports and help determine test outcomes.
Present data and insights on key test events to testing groups and stakeholders.
Experiment with part-processing and manufacturing methods to meet final requirements.
Reconfigure equipment for nonstandard tests based on requirements, design, and planning.
Self-manage tasks using planning tools.
Follow safety requirements and 5S workplace organization practices.
Drive the creation of written risk assessments.
Participate in continuous-improvement initiatives.
Manage inventory for key NPD projects.
Use a methodical approach to fault finding and root-cause analysis for test equipment and new products.
Create test procedures and standard operating procedures for development projects.
