CED is well situated in Downers Grove, Illinois - we are located a commuter train ride west of Chicago and a short drive from farmland. CED's current salary range for this role is $28.00 - $37.25/ hour. At CED, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, location and geography. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. JOB SUMMARY The Test Technician is responsible for the testing of aerospace products to ensure compliance with drawing and procedural requirements. Types of tests include electrical, mechanical, leakage, environmental (mainly temperature, vibration) and destructive functional testing.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years of directly related experience in Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environment.
  • Lawful U.S. Person (ITAR restrictions)
  • Must be eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) for all employees of Chemring Energetic Devices
  • Ability to read and write legibly, and possess able to perform basic math operations
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents including work instructions, and drawings
  • Professional verbal and written communication skill
  • Working knowledge of recording data and familiarity with data acquisition equipment
  • Exceptional attention to detail, high degree of accuracy and ability to independently perform multiple assignments

Responsibilities

  • Work to established test technician work schedule to support product delivery requirements
  • Establish work priorities to ensure effective utilization of time and resources
  • Monitor performance to ensure timely execution of tasks
  • Read and understand drawings and acceptance test procedures to ensure conformance to requirements
  • Use gauges within calibration limits and in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Operate functional test equipment, environmental chambers, gas lines, electronics, helium leak detectors and vibration equipment
  • Cross functionally interface with various departments and customers to address concerns
  • Comply with government and corporate laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Special projects and additional duties as assigned
