Test Technician
About The Position
Element has an opportunity for a Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team in one of the various laboratories across Element, the Associate Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of routine electrical and mechanical operations
- Basic knowledge of Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, and other data collection instruments
- Basic knowledge of circuitry design, troubleshooting, safety practices and wiring
- Must be able to use standard instrumentation, i.e. temperature probes, thermocouples, pressure transducers and accelerometers, RF Signal Generators, RF Amplifiers
- Basic usage of Microsoft Office suite and other computer skills
- Prepare specimens for testing in accordance with Testing Specification
Nice To Haves
- Preferred Avionics Technician background
- Knowledge in EMI Testing standards MIL-STD-461, RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1399 300B / 070, etc
Responsibilities
- Read specifications from technical documents (i.e. test plans/procedures), identify/prepare test equipment
- Monitor tests per specifications/procedures; interact with customer if needed; troubleshoot; document all pertinent data
- Verify, review and document all pertinent data after testing; finalize data and provide to project engineer
- Physically remove test items; maintain lab by cleaning all equipment, keeping calibrated instruments current and organizing supplies
- Perform other duties as needed
