About The Position

Thales Defense & Security, Inc. (TDSI) is seeking a 2nd Shift Test Technician for their Clarksburg, MD Campus. TDSI has been serving domestic and international defense domains for 60 years and has over 1,000 employees across four subsidiaries. They support U.S. Joint Services, special operations forces, and multinational partners with various communication, visualization, electronic warfare, and sensor/sonar capabilities. The Test Technicians will report to the Senior Manager of Manufacturing. Candidates must be able to train on 1st shift for up to 4 weeks before transitioning to the 2nd shift schedule. 1st shift hours are 5:00 am-2:30 pm, and 2nd shift hours are 2:30 pm to 12:00 am.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Excellent verbal and written communications – Fluent in English.
• 2 – 4 years of equivalent experience.
• Basic understanding of electronics terminology and application. Ex: Volts, Amps, Ohms, Phase, Modulation, dBm, dBc, Intermodulation, etc.
• Familiar with AC, DC, RF test and measurement equipment operation.
• Experience using Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs with or without assistance.
• Shall be accountable for quality, quantity, and inspection of all work performed.
• Ability to comply with all Company guidelines, policies, procedures and embrace Company Core Values.

Nice To Haves

• 2 year Electronic degree or equivalent preferred.
• SAP S/4/Hana preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform board and unit level testing per test procedures with minimum supervision.
• Properly connect test equipment.
• Keep team lead informed of stack and product issues.
• Properly sign in on correct PIDs, complete ESD testing, and follow all manufacturing guidelines and procedures.
• Run most tests in factory.
• Support Environmental Stress Testing (ESS) with minimum supervision.
• Work safely with high voltage and high power transmitters.
• Maintain a neat and tidy work area and be compliant with ESD and FOD policies.
