About The Position
The Test Technician will read testing plans and conduct basic tests on new or modified products or product components. This role involves reviewing daily and weekly test plans with engineers, maintaining testing lab equipment, and performing tests, calibrations, and adjustments on testing equipment. The technician will also confer with engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing problems, maintain records of testing performed, and compile test data for review.
Requirements
- Knowledge of automotive or off-highway vehicle parts and components, with an emphasis on diesel fuel systems components.
- Ability to read electrical or electronic schematics and product drawings.
- Experience with testing equipment.
- Competent written and oral communication skills.
- Competent level of experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Basic attention to detail.
- Competent organizational and time management skills.
Responsibilities
- Reads testing plans and conducts basic tests on new or modified products or product components.
- Reviews daily and weekly test plans with engineers to ensure understanding and proper execution.
- Maintains equipment, fixtures, parts, and tools used in the testing lab.
- Tests, calibrates, and adjusts testing equipment as required.
- Confers with engineering and other technical personnel to resolve testing problems such as product or equipment issues, malfunctions, or incomplete test data.
- Maintains records on testing performed.
- Compiles test data and reviews test results with engineering personnel.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
