About The Position

The Test Technician will be responsible for verifying the functionality of IC test sockets, socket lids, thermal control units, and various components using established procedures and equipment to support daily shipments, warranty returns, and engineering studies. This role involves performing visual inspections of intricate parts and assemblies under a microscope and other equipment, as well as conducting failure analysis and material investigations using laboratory analysis equipment. The technician will work closely with engineers to ensure testing procedures are accurately performed, configure testing equipment hardware, and initiate automated test scripts. Responsibilities also include analyzing test results, creating test reports, archiving test records, interpreting unit test results, determining unit quality (pass/fail), preparing information for repairs, and routing parts. The role requires entering transactional job information into a computerized job scheduling/tracking system (MRP) and performing equipment calibrations and testing standards to monitor tester health. Technicians will rotate to different test stations based on daily assignments and may be assigned other duties.

Requirements

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Windows computing environment and able to use common Microsoft applications including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Must perform delicate-precise positioning of parts during setup, testing, and inspections.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Exceptional attention to details and discipline to follow procedures.
  • Able to independently carry out instructions and work in a team environment.
  • Proficient with common test instruments including digital multimeter, digital thermometer, digital power supply, and microscopes.
  • Flexible and able to positively respond to changing priorities under schedule pressure.
  • Available for modified work schedule to support business needs (extended hours, additional shift coverage, weekends, holidays, normal days off).
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and bill of materials.
  • Able to lift minimum of 30 pounds occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with laboratory analysis equipment is a plus. Including industrial X-Ray, Infrared Spectrometer, Scanning Electron Microscope, Energy-Dispersive X-ray Spectrometer, and Mechanical Load Frames (MTS or Instron).

Responsibilities
