Test Technician I
About The Position
The Test Technician I will be responsible for performing tests on power systems up to 480 VAC 3PH, including PLC program uploads and interconnecting field devices such as motors, sensors, and switches. This role involves performing system tests to validate device and system functions, documenting finished panels with photo documentation, and marking up engineering drawings to reflect "as-built" conditions. The technician will also prepare engineering change orders, document test findings, and write/update test procedures. Additionally, the role provides manufacturing support as required and requires an understanding of basic electrical theory and component functionality. The position involves lifting up to 50 lbs and operating a pallet jack.
Requirements
- Understanding of basic electric theory and functionality of electrical components
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Operate pallet jack as needed
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PDF creation, digital camera operation, and cloud-based file storage
- Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology or equivalent experience
- 2+ years’ experience in electrical testing in a manufacturing environment with a preference in testing electrical control panels
- Experience using standard tools for testing, including multimeters, oscilloscope, etc.
- Requires a thorough understanding/training in Lock-Out/Tag-Out
Nice To Haves
- Preference in testing electrical control panels
- Familiarity with UL508A and IPC A620 preferred
